The Octomore Edition 15.1 is a bold and uncompromising single malt whisky, peated to an intense 108.2 PPM (phenol parts per million). Crafted from 100% Scottish Concerto barley and distilled in 2018 from the 2017 harvest, this super heavily peated whisky is matured for 5 years in a combination of first fill bourbon barrels and re-charred ex-bourbon casks. Bottled at a robust 59.1% ABV, this edition is the backbone of the Octomore series, showcasing the powerful influence of high-intensity peat smoke while maintaining a balance of smooth vanilla custard and sweet charred oak.
 
On the nose, expect vibrant caramel and citrus, delicately wrapped in earthy peat smoke, followed by spicy aniseed, vanilla, and tropical fruits. The palate opens with a refreshing heat, balanced by sweet dry malt, mango, banana, and apricot jam, rounded by creamy vanilla custard and toffee. The finish lingers with peat smoke, vanilla, and sweet charred oak, leaving a fresh marine crispness that captures the essence of Islay.
